A new way to feel better.
At Blueberry Beds we build a product which gently stretches your spine as you sleep. It works on the same principle as the ear and nose weights which some indigenous tribes use: a small force, applied over a long period of time, can cause a lengthening of a body part. Because the force is small—just a few pounds—it can be applied to your back as you sleep horizontally, and without the need for attaching anything to your body. This allows you to change sleeping positions, just as you would in a normal bed. If you try sleeping on our bed you might feel better immediately, or you might feel better after several months of use. We give you a trial period to determine if the Blueberry Microtraction Bed will make a difference for you. To learn more, watch this introductory video, or read the inventor’s personal story, below.

The Inventor’s Story
In 2015 I had suffered from low back pain for seven years. I had tried physical therapy, heat, ice, acupuncture, massage, a traction table, nerve ablation, a steroid injection, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, and chronic pain medication. None of these treatments brought about long-term relief. Having exhausted the usual conservative treatment options, I started thinking about ways I might cause a change in my low back without surgery. I began with the following observations: 1) An MRI showed that I have degenerative disc disease (a compression of the discs) in the lumbar spine 2) Ear and nose weights, which apply a small force over a long period of time, lengthen the parts from which they hang as long as the force is regularly applied 3) My physics degrees and design background might enable me to come up with something novel. I theorized that if I could use physics to apply a small traction force to the lower back over a long period of time, this might help me feel better. But how and when could I comfortably apply this force? During the day the spine is in compression. This meant that the traction would have to be applied at night, when the spine was naturally decompressing on its own, and it would have to be applied in such a way that the user could sleep comfortably and in different positions.
Over three years, I experimented with different designs, building prototypes and sleeping on them to see what worked. As I slept on these prototypes, my back pain decreased by about three quarters. And after much hard work the Blueberry Microtraction Bed was born. In its current form the bed is appropriate for users of all ages and almost every height. You can use the bed alone, or set up a King Size Bed for a two person sleeping solution. I've designed the bed to feel good (and look good!). I hope it helps you as much as it's helped me.
P.S. I’ve written a book about my journey through chronic pain to healing. In it I discuss other inventions I’ve come up with, and provide plans so you can build these yourself. If you’re interested, you can find my book here.
The root cause of 90% of low back pain cannot be determined, making any kind of targeted intervention impossible for most people. Therefore we believe in treating your body like a science experiment. Try many things and see what makes you feel better. That’s why we’re pleased to offer a money-back guarantee. We want you to keep the product, if it helps you, and if it doesn’t, you may return it so it can help someone else.
